A special day for WOMEN’s ACTIONS FOR GREEN ECONOMY – IREBERO members

On Sunday, November 14, 2021, 11 women founder members of WAGE-IREBERO (WOMEN’s ACTIONS FOR GREEN ECONOMY-IREBERO), gathered in a General Assembly for signing the statute and the action plan of WAGE-IREBERO. This was the kick off for all the activities of this organization in general. WAGE-IREBERO aims to support women and youth in rural settings to enhance their role in economic development and increase their well-being.


The General Assembly also reviewed the timetable (action plan) for the forthcoming activities of the organization, among which the key activities included co-operation with the local authorities where WAGE-IREBERO will conduct a campaign for planting trees on the roads where they have not yet been planted. The WAGE-IREBERO offices are located in the village of Rusheshe in Masaka sector in Kicukiro district. That is where the main activities will start in four villages of Masaka sector in addition to four villages of Mayange sector in Bugesera district.
